after reviewing many Auto Transport quotes to have my 1999 Mustang Cobra shipped back to Washington I decided to go with Cross Country. Ryan is the sales associate that helped me, he seemed very honest and trustworthy and told me there would be no exra fuel surcharges charged or any extras fee $1075 out the door 175 going to cross country for deposit, door to door service. So this is when it went wrong, the car got picked u last Tuesday morning by 2 gentleman who had no ID on them and the paperwork had a different named company which was crossed out and they had putten there name instead. My parents are the ones who released the vehicle, my step dad being very cautious about everything wanted to see there id and wanted to know they were legit before he let my pristine Cobra get on a trailer and go across country. He was taking pictures of the truck and the drivers, so if anything were to go wrong we would have some proof. The drivers told him they would crush his phone and that he can not do that, because the shipping carrier works for the government by repoeing cars then he corrected him self by saying they dont work for the government, but they ship cars for people who are in the witness protection plan? kinda wierd??. The next day i called Cross Country to tell them about the problems my parents were experiencing at that time they said they would take care of it and i never heard from them again. The next day i called the driver to see where they were and to ask what he perfers for form of payment and he said $1000 cash? When i made the reservation i was told that i would be charged no more then $1075 no all the sudden i owe $1175? anyways, i got ahold of Cross country again to see if we could resolve this issue before the car arrived? long story short they did nothing and i ended up paying $100 more then what was signed on my contract. The only good thing i have to say about my experience is that the car got here in 3 days which was amazing. All i say for a warning for future clients is be careful with the price they give you and be prepared to pay more.
