| Late pick-up and delivery |
I contracted with AutoStar to ship my car. They subcontracted this to a truck driver/owner. When the truck broke down before pick-up, causing the pick-up to be late, they claimed no responsibility, laying the fault on the driver. But my contract was with AutoStar, not the driver. I contracted with AutoStar to deliver my car. I would have expected them to find another trucker, even if it cost them more money. Because they could not meet the contracted delivery time, I was forced to rent a car, an additional cost of over $250.

This characterization of AutoStar Transport is completely unfair and unjustified. When the first assigned truck had mechanical issues, we immediately began working to assign an alternate carrier that better fit his requested timetable, even offering a bonus on our behalf to any driver that could arrive quickly. Unable to secure a last minute, secondary transport, the first carrier arrived 2 days later than expected, loaded the vehicle, and delivered it on July 24th. Even with this slight delay of delivery, the timeframes Mr. White was originally given were still met. I do not understand how he could have rented a vehicle that cost him $250 for 2 days, unless it was a Porsche, Rolls Royce, or Lamborghini.
