When this company contacted me to move my car, they were very cooperative and agreed to the price I wanted $590.00. I signed the contract and the move was scheduled for four months in the future. The driver did not call regarding the pick up on the date he was supposed to and after calling to the company they had the driver call on the day of the pick up. He was late picking the vehicle up but did deliver it on the date he said he would.
When it came time to pay him, all of a sudden his invoice was different from mine by $50.00. He said he did not know why it was different but that was the amount he had to collect and give to his boss. Since he still had the car keys and it was too late in the day to call Transport Services, I was stuck paying the extra money but felt like I was being taken. I called Transport Services the next day several times and always got an answering machine. I left a message and no one called back. I finally reached them two days later and was told that the extra cost was due to fuel charges going up. I explained that I had booked this trip four months earlier and paid my deposit and we had a contract but the girl just said she was sorry that there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she would have a manager call me back. That was three days ago and no call yet. I don't expect one either. It is not the $50.00 extra that bothers me but the underhanded way it was handled. They had plenty of time to tell me about the extra cost they wanted to charge before the delivery. I had talked to them twice the week of the delivery and no mention was ever made. Also the fact that no one ever called me back to discuss it really makes me think that once they have your car and your deposit, you are stuck for whatever they want to hold you up for.
