Reviewed:Mariupol Auto Transport
Subject: Joy Riders!!!! NEVER AGAIN GIVE THEM BUSINESS, PLEASE!!
Review:They need to be out of business, and they need to compensate everyone they ever pissed off...

Upon my move from Westchester, NY to Seattle, WA, i was a little distressed about finding an auto transport carrier... i looked up a handful from one of those 10 quote sites, found a broker who was really friendly and really easy to get in touch with, very professional, and has been ever since.
According to him, in their list of carriers who were available for a may 15-17th pick up was mariupol. In their databases, mariupol was insured and had a good score - 97 or 98 out of 100...

From the beginning i knew something shady was up. they were supposed to pick up b/n the 15th and 17. Getting in touch with the company or the drivers before hand was impossible. The cell phone i was given for the drivers wasnt being picked up, and when i got to voicemail, the box was full... i texted them angrily something along the lines of "please empty your voicemailbox and give me a call." THey called the 17th around 6pm, only to struggle about settling on a pick up time on the 18th. I was working from 545am-12 noon. 'Oh, we'll come by around 5.30am then...' NO... nothing is happening that early - i struggle working that early as is. so they reluctantly said how about noon... finally 2pm, they call, theyre in the area. im neurotic about my awesome car, i take photos of every side of the car and even the odometer reading... (DO THIS! SOOOOOO DO THIS!) they pick up my car, go thru the inspection, blah blah. 14 days for delivery cross country.... they say... the broker told me it should take 7-10 days, irked, but whatever, if they need 2 weeks to get my car to my new home safely, so be it. once the 10 days pass, im already in WA, i give them a call, just to see where they are, no answer from either the office or drivers... fine... next few days i wait patiently... finally, the drivers call a day in advance (woot), to tell me they'd be in friday the 30th by noonish. so i call up work to let them know i need to be home by 12.... i waited 7 and a half hours at home, having to even cancel friday evening plans for these screwups... i called them repeatedly, they kept saying 'another 2 hours, another hour, traffic....' blah blah...
finally, 7.30 rolls around, 'your car's out in front of your building...' i see Eugene, (no last names, unfortunately), standing outside my pretty car - oh how i've missed my beautiful solara (im young, but ive worked hard to pay for this car entirely on my own, insurance and maintenance and all). So immediately, he hands me the clipboard to sign. i hand it back to him and make my initial round on the outside of the car, i check the inside of my trunk where i had kept some bulky shoes and a blanket, all there - he meets me 3/4 around the car handing me the clipboard again. i reluctantly agree to sign the damn paperwork before thinking about the inside of my car... i dont know why, i just forgot that part (major part, NEVER FORGET THIS).

I step inside my car to park it in the garage, but the steering wheel and door are all gross with man-hand gunk, fine, i get it, hard working truckers are gross, but they needed to drive my car to and from the truck... i turn the engine on, the gas light is on (i left 1/3-1/4 tank in there), and the odometer looks quite a bit different than what it did before... i took another picture of it... 63,910 - 64,192miles - 282 MILES MISSING, as in: not mine anymore... #$^%@$!!!! i look up, the cloth part of my sunroof was open... i left that closed - my car was fully presentable and clean when i gave it to these people. they opened my sunroof... i look in the cupholder, both open, with drippage stains of what looks like hot chocolate... a paper wrapped straw sat in the passenger seat, while the small bag of shampoo/conditioner that once sat in that seat was tossed in the back - someone was in my passenger seat... and finally, i looked at my clock - 2 hours behind, not the 3 hours behind with NY time... they futzed with the clock - so they changed it im guessing in the central time states...

i know my car is amazing - a very well kept 1999 toyota solara, v6 engine with all the fixin's: leather/stereo/sunroof... BUT ITS NOT THEIRS TO ENJOY!
i called the drivers after turning on the car, didnt answer - of course... calling them since to talk about it is near impossible. friday night, the office isnt open, and i was furious that i signed the paperwork, fearing that theres nothing more i can do... i cant tell anyone immediately about this... i call saterday, just hoping but the office is closed - fine, so i called monday morning, 10am, talked to my broker - was great about it, kept me in touch and in the loop - and i tried calling mariupol - nothing, broker called them, nothing, for at least 2 weeks calls were never returned to any of us...
since there's no physical damage, theres nothing i can do to file with their insurance company
which BTW is: northland insurance co. 651.310.4100 (mariupol's policy # is TK574479)
so im left making more phone calls trying to see if they can compensate me in any way if only i can get in touch with them. theyre based in washington, but way on the other side of this state... so i cant pop on in to bug them. my total was 1065$ - $165 - deposit for the broker, than another $900 for these screwups... the deductable is $1000, so theyre responsible for the 1st $1000 in reimbursement (or so ive heard)... and i want a full refund.

No one should pay to give their car to a legitimate company only to have their car whored out to some nasty, grimy truck trivers... My car felt as dirty as if your daughter were to come home the next day after prom with a torn, filthy dress all toussled! That is not right!
