| BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! |
BEWARE OF THESE COMPANIES THEY GO BY:A Eastern Connection alias A.T. Transporters, V&C Warehouse & Distribution, Inc., Autotrail Transporters Co.Inc.
Do your homework first. Unfortunately I did not check this company through the BBB and now I'm sorry. I am still awaiting my full refund of $1,190. from these crooks. I signed a contract with them in my sister's home in Massachusetts on March 17 and mailed it back that evening. However, these shysters electronically transferred money from my checking account on March 18, even before they had the signed contract back in their hands in NY. I don't think mail travels that fast. Anyways, they were scheduled to pickup my vehicle from MA and arrange transport to WA State on March 20,21, 2008. When I called them to get an estimated pickup time, I was told that the carrier is running behind schedule and would be there the following Monday. Now, Monday comes along and we have another reason and the carrier would be there later on in the week. This scenario continued for the next few weeks and according to the contract when my 14 business days were up I was able to cancel without penalties. So I canceled the contract and according to their contract, if arrangements could not be made, I was entitled to a full refund with no administration fees!!! When I called after the 14 business days were up, I was told by Krista that all I needed to do was send in a request by fax and that my check would be in the mail in 2-3 weeks.
I faxed them a request for a full refund, $1,190.00 on April 17 and also sent them a certified letter requesting the same. I gave them a month or so to process this. Then I started e-mailing and calling to find out the whereabouts of my refund and how long much longer it would take. This is when the stories of deception and lies began. I was told the refund would be in the mail later in the week. No refund, so I called. Now the story goes that bookkeeping is gone for the day, or they are only in on Mondays and Thursdays. However, when you call on a Monday or Thursday, the bookkeeper, alias Margeurite Cermola/Scalfani (owner and deceiver), she went home early or is on another line. When you leave phone numbers for her to call you back, nothing happens. I called back a few times in one day to speak to her and I was told she is still on another line. Now how can someone be on another line for 45 minutes or more. The last time I called, I was treated rudely and yelled at. This someone, I surmise, was Mr. Scalfani (owner) himself from descriptions that I have read about him. I was told that if I continued to call, e-mail and harass them that I would not get a refund.
Well it is now June 30 and I'm still waiting for my refund. These deceivers have left me no choice, so
I have contacted the BBB, the FTC, Consumer Protection Bureau of NY, Attorney Generals of NY, the DA District Attorney, Transport Claims Administration in California, and the FMCSA.
Please do not deal with these people. I have been in touch with others whom they have deceived and also carriers that they try to arrange transport with. There are carriers out there who have also been deceived by these people.
What I can't believe is the people who work for them and do what they do.
